In 2018 our house underwent a major renovation. It entailed building a modern extension to our 1930’s bungalow to create a better floor plan for our family (teenagers) whilst keeping the beautiful character of the original home. We also wanted to keep a large garden, lots of light and lots of internal space. Somehow AHI achieved this for us.

AHI had been recommended to us by friends. Due to the size of the renovation the time spent with AHI was significant. From the start they were very direct and transparent about the process, anticipated completion time and the cost. We cannot speak highly enough about the whole team – David, the boss who helped us work out what was possible with our budget, Joe who designed the reno, Tania who helped with the interior design and Steve our builder. Steve was typical of the whole team – he was unfailingly positive, available and genuinely interested in doing the best for us. He always had a “can do “approach and treated our questions and ideas with consideration and expertise. The quality of the build is great.

The process of renovating was far less stressful than we anticipated, and we are extremely happy with our beautiful home.”

We were eager to embark on an extension to our home but were apprehensive in regard to our disabled daughters particular needs being able to be met.  We were also unashamedly fussy customers who wanted quality workmanship, excellent customer service, value for money with a speedy resolution to any of the minor issues that inevitably go along with such and endeavour. AHI did not disappoint. They were understanding of, and able to deliver re our daughters needs but were also able to meet our other expectations. The extension is a delight.

We knew that the process of renovating a house wouldn’t be smooth, logistically there are so many things happening that are dependent on outside factors.  Our experience with AHI was exceptionally good and we have already recommended them to friends and family looking to renovate.  The end product included a beautiful open plan living space that has honestly changed the way we live, we only wish we had been brave enough to renovate sooner!”

” I would like to thank you and all the people who worked on the addition to my home. The family room and the adjoining veranda, are a great asset to my house and provide a great area for the enjoyment of the whole family. Visitors have commented on the quality of the workmanship and I am very pleased with the finished product as well as the paving around the house. The tradesmen took great care not to damage existing plants and pathways and restored soil to areas that needed it. I wanted the addition to blend in with the rest of the house and genuine efforts were made to match materials wherever possible.
I was also very impressed with the level of communication throughout the building process. I was able to ask questions and meet with the building supervisor throughout the process. I found this to be a very informative part of the process. I also appreciated the level of organisation that Adelaide Home Improvements demonstrated. For example, I was given a folder which had all the relevant information. I was encouraged to keep certificates, plans, reports and other details in this folder for safe keeping.
The team of people working on the addition were enthusiastic and hardworking. The work was completed within the allocated time and I was also given a detailed outline of the things I needed to consider once the construction phase was completed.
